I recently came across a video on YouTube wherein the maker shares his lessons learned after realizing that his years of playing video games won't do anything good. He realized that years of sitting down in front of his computer has not improve any part of his being, and that it only costs him to lose precious moments with friends, family and his own self.
He pointed a lot of things that most people won't notice. It's definitely an eye opener for me. But he may have a point in all what he said, but I find it wrong to blame all your misfortunes for mistakes you willingly committed.
Why blame World of Warcraft, DoTA and other video games when it was you who chose to stay for many years inside your room and decided to become an expert using your character skills and powers.
I'm pretty sure these game developers did not wish for their players to get divorced, to become overweight or be left behind by friends. They developed these games for entertainment and surely, it is their main way of earning a living.
I myself play a lot of video games, and although I agree that playing these kind of games are nothing but a waste of time, and will not bring lasting happiness, I'm glad to know that I know my limitations. I know when it's time to stop. And I'm sure you've heard of the phrase, "All is in moderation."
