Sanyo recently posted their new products on their website and this includes the Eneloop Portable Solar Panel. The portable solar panel can charge devices from laptops, cellphones, mp3, iPod and more using a USB connection.
The Portable Solar Panel package comes with an Eneloop LSD NiMH (low self-discharge nickel-metal hydride battery) rechargeable battery as well as the new Eneloop LED. It also comes with a the Eneloop Mobile Booster, weighs almost 2.5 ounce, that contains the lithium ion battery to store solar energy.
The Portable Solar comes in two versions, one with a single panel and one with a set of two panels, each weighing about 8 to 15 ounces. The Portable Solar is made into a slick, book-sized appearance for portability and mobility. It also has a hook hole so that you can hang it outside your windows and anywhere where the sun shines strike.
The Eneloop Mobile Booster takes up to 1.5 to almost 3 days to get fully charged. However, Sanyo said that 1 hour of charging is enough to power your phones for a 20-40 minutes of continuous talk time. That's a lot of time and really useful especially during emergencies.
Duration of charging time in your devices depends on how much energy did the solar panels absorbed. The more hotter the day, the more exposed the sun is, the more power you Eneloop Portable Solar has. Sanyo has not yet revealed the price of the device but rumors indicate that the single panel costs $90 and the double panel will be priced at $150.
The Eneloop Portable Solar panel goes on sale on August 10. So if you're planning a trip to Egypt, Africa, Middle East or anywhere where the sun is at its heat-giving peak, you might want to get yourself a portable solar panel.
