Last night I had to attend a friend's birthday party and so I left my game Flyff game account to the cares of my younger brother. I told him to level it up and after leveling, put it on vend mode following the price list I made for the goods. After that, he can just leave it and go to sleep.
I was fine with him playing my account since he's always been my 'pilot' for weeks already. But last night was shocking when he called me while in the middle of the party. I could barely hear his voice because of the loud music in the are, but when I stumbled on his words "account" and "hacked", I panicked.
I went home immediately and for real, my account was hacked. How did it all happen in just a short while?
My brother told me a certain GM-Atma (there is a REAL GM in-game who's name is Atma) sent him a "Christmas Promo Winner Confirmation". It said he won high level upgraded rings and armor sets. But he needs to reply with his account and password. My brother is 11, and although he knows how to play the game, he's quite vulnerable to this kind of flashy fake offerings.
He gave the details, and immediately after, he got disconnected. Someone logged on the account while he was at it. They exchanged a series of logging in and out for about 20 minutes. Obviously the veteran hacker succeeded. I'm not so sure if the hacker gave my items to someone because there's no way for me to know it now for my characters have been deleted. All of them! Including unused characters in different servers!
It's still a mid-level character at 75, but it is the account I'm using to earn money, so all of my good equips (worth billions in game) and all of my hard-earned penya (game money) are now just part of my gaming history.
Even if I want to blame my brother for his irresponsibility, I can't. I never should have left it in his care in the first place. If there's someone that is responsible for this, it's the heartless hackers, mindless people who doesn't know a thing aside from bugging and annoying others.
I already took the measures and wrote to the LevelUpGames customer service. They have this new CS processing website which is actually great. But I'm still yet to receive a reply so I can't comment on how good their service are when it comes to cases like this.
