We all do become lazy at one point or another. We become reluctant to do any of the tasks that we are supposed to do and just resort to idle activities such as reading blogs like this one. I know you know what I mean, right?
The problem with freelancing work is that you cannot be lazy. That is not to say that those working with regular jobs could afford to be lazy, for they also risk termination that way. What I mean is that even if you go lazy for a while, you can still count your wage as is.
That is not the case for the freelancer. If you are a freelancer, you should be able to do all of your work before becoming lazy. This is because the payment is on a per-project basis. Refuse to do your work now will result to financial losses on your part, and we all don't want that to happen.
This doesn't end in laziness alone. If you're a freelancer, it also becomes difficult to get a vacation, unless you want to lose money. If you're employed, you could afford to take a vacation leave with pay. The government mandates that. If you're a freelancer, all you can do is to do everything in advance or delegate your tasks. In my case, this isn't possible because I am not the type of person who likes to delegate work to others.
Now, I have piled work on my desk, which isn't really a result of laziness, but of other duties that I have to fulfill. Sometimes I wish I could just shrug everything by saying that I'm feeling lazy, but that isn't possible. Like what a friend has told me before, we should be productive if we don't want to end up poor. Good point. Personally, I find it fulfilling to see my own bank account rise in value. It's like everything was worth it.
I think I should return back to work right now?
