Recently, PayPal announced that they will be flexible payments API. The API is basically designed for developers to access full features of PayPal so that these developers will have more freedom developing applications with main goals of paying, distributing and receiving payments.
Developers can now do anything they want using the PayPal platform. This is also to ensure PayPal's commitment to global connectivity. But PayPal also mentioned that transaction security will not be compromised in implementing the API.
The new API from PayPal is very much similar to Amazon.com's Flexible Payments Services (FPS). Most of the features in the Amazon FPS are similar to that of PayPal's.
PayPal's flexible Adaptive Payments API will officially be opened to developers on November.
